Interference generated by PLC-access-networks:

 

1.   Demonstration of severe interference caused by various PLC-technologies

to shortwave broadcasting signals.

Even strong broadcasting signals on shortwave are being interfered. Not even the language of the broadcasting speaker can be identified !!

2.   Demonstration of a PLC-system using frequency hopping-technology in the range 2 – 26 MHz. Display of spectrum with a spectrum analyzer. Demonstration of severe interference to shortwave broadcasting as well as to amateur radio signals on the frequencies 13,665 (broadcasting) and 14,211 MHz (amateur). Reception of the HF-signals is made impossible.

Severe interference to all amateur bands between 3,5 and 24 MHz.

3.   Demonstration of an interfering signal generated by inhouse-PLC-modems using Intellon chipset able to interfere with any short-wave radio receiver being operated in some distance to the location of the PLC-modem; display of the spectrum used by the modem (approx. 4 – 22 MHz)
